Putlur is a village in Thiruvallur district in Tamil Nadu, West Chennai suburb. Ankala Parameswari Amman Temple (Devi Parvathi, Devi Poonkawanathamman Amman) is a dedicated deity and popular shrine of the suburbs. According to Puranas, a pregnant female-looking goddess made of sand is lying on the ground. Putlur Railway Station is in the Chennai suburban railway network. The temple is located at the Putlur-Ramapuram in Tiruvallur District. The temple is located in the middle of the town. it is at a distance of about 38 km from Chennai Central and 35 km from the CMDA bus stand.
Angalaparameshwari Amman, Vinayagar and Thandavarayan are the dieties in the temple. Neem tree is the main tree in the temple.
People in this Putlur village raised this temple for the Angalaparameshwari, the realm of humanity who came to their home town. As the flowers were found in a shady field with trees, plants and vines, they started worshiping as Poongavanathamman. She also has the old name of Angalaparameshwari!
Those who want to be blessed with marriage and child, have to take bath in the temple tank, worship the mother with the wetted dress, around 11 times round the Praharam of the temple around 11 times,. By doing this for 9 weeks, their prayers will be fulfilled. The temple is opened on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm; On other days it is opened from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

मंदिर में श्री अँगलापरमेश्वरी अम्मन, विनयगर और थंडावारायण आहार हैं। नीम का पेड़ मंदिर का मुख्य पेड़ है।
पुतलुर गाँव के लोगों ने इस मंदिर को मानवता के क्षेत्र अंगलापरमेश्वरी के लिए उठाया, जो अपने गृह नगर में आए थे। जैसे-जैसे फूल पेड़, पौधों और लताओं के साथ एक छायादार खेत में पाए जाते हैं, वे पूंगवननाथम् के रूप में पूजे जाने लगे। उसका भी पुराना नाम अंगलापारमेश्वरी है!
जो लोग विवाह और संतान का आशीर्वाद चाहते हैं, उन्हें मंदिर की टंकी में स्नान करना पड़ता है, गीले कपड़े से मां की पूजा करनी चाहिए, लगभग 11 बार मंदिर के प्राहारम में 11 बार परिक्रमा करनी चाहिए। 9 सप्ताह तक ऐसा करने से उनकी प्रार्थना पूरी हो जाएगी। मंदिर को मंगलवार, शुक्रवार और रविवार को सुबह 6:00 बजे से रात 8:00 बजे तक खोला जाता है; अन्य दिनों में यह सुबह 6:00 बजे से दोपहर 1:00 बजे और दोपहर 2:00 बजे से 7:30 बजे तक खोला जाता है।
