Under the aegis of the GCDA, an eye catching world class multimedia laser show called " rainbow sundance' has been set up at Kochi.
Showcases only in Malaysia and singapore so far. Largest water dance shown ever seen in kerala. Laser show is organised daily at Kochi in an open air auditorium with a seating capity of 800. By using 200 special lights they are synchronised with music. Lights are being shown upto 90 feet by prsenting an aura of wonderment never before seen in the Kochi / Ernakulam city.
The show lasts 50 minutes and starts every day at 0700 PM.
Laser light is useful in entertainment because of the coherent nature of laser light. It allows a narrow beam to be produced, which allows the use of optical scanning to draw patterns or images on walls, ceilings or other surfaces including theatrical smoke and fog without refocusing for the differences in distance, as is common with video projection. This inherently more focused beam is also extremely visible, and is often used as an effect. Sometimes the beams are "bounced" to different positions with mirrors to create laser sculpture.
The laser show organised by the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) was resumed at Rajendra Maidan on Tuesday evening.14.8.18.at a cost of Rs.19 lakhs
