Murdeshwar is a town in Bhatkal Taluk in Karnataka State, India. Murdeeshwar Temple and the 238 feet tall Raja Gopura in Murdeshwar town are famouus amoung the pilgimates. The temple is built on the Kanduka Hill. The Hill is surrounded by Arabian Sea on three sides. Lift is provided to bring the visitors to the top of the tower so that they can see full of the town surrounding the temple. Adjacent to the temple, a 123-feet Sri Shiva idol is built on a mandapam. There is a separate temple for the Shaneswar next to the idol of Sri Akshayaguna. Murdeshwar town is connected with Mangalore by trains. Bus facilities are also there to reach Murdeshwar town.
