This occurs on the day when the moon is in conjunction with the constellation Karthigai and Purnima. The occurrence of Karthigai Nakshatram in the month of Karthigai is celebrated as Thiru Karthigai. This constellation appears as a group of six stars in the sky as a shape of a pendant from the ear. Many legends and lyrical poetry have grown round this star. The six stars are considered in Indian mythology as the six celestial fairies who reared the six babies in the Saravana tank which later were joined together to form the six faced Muruga. The Flower Dome green house is largest one in the world as listed in the 2015 Guinness Book of World Records. It has also other gardens namely Australian Garden, South African Garden, South American Garden, California Garden etc., These gardens exhibit exotic flowers and plants from five different continents. Gardens by the Bay was part of the nation's plans to transform its "Garden City" to a "City in a Garden". It is one of the popular tourist attractions in Singapore and the park has received 6.4 million visitors in 2014, while topping its 20 millionth visitor mark in November 2015 and over 50 million in 2018.
